Emery-rose Assiniboine

Emery-Rose Assiniboine is a mother of two, an Indigenous mental health counsellor, and a program facilitator dedicated to supporting Indigenous and First Nations families through trauma-informed, culturally rooted care. She is Dakhota from Long Plain First Nation in Manitoba and Nehiyaw from Nekaneet Cree Nation in Saskatchewan. Her work is grounded in lived experience, cultural knowledge, and a deep commitment to strengthening family and community connections.

At the heart of her work is a deep commitment to helping First Nation families reconnect to their strengths, heal from historical and ongoing trauma, and reclaim original parenting practices that nurture connected, resilient, and well-supported children. This reflects the Dakota worldview, in which being a Good Relative is central to the well-being of individuals, families, and communities.

She is currently based out of Manitoba, Canada
